Matrix Metal Solutions

Working two jobs is what you do when trying to set up a new business. Fortunately for Matt Bloxham and Rik Little they only had to sustain this for six months before concentrating all their efforts on their new company Matrix Metal Solutions.


Sometimes friends can spark an idea that turns into pure magic and that’s how it played out for Matt and Rik. Both were employed together and during their spare time manufactured aluminium roofs at their respective homes. Several friends asked if they could have one. This is when they had the idea to go into business together. Having established Matrix Metal Solutions midway through 2016 sales started steadily and within six months they were able to commit themselves full time to the new business.


The Matrix team proudly design and manufacture a range of outdoor canopies, awnings and blinds, and a variety of fabricated products for the residential and commercial markets. They’re also actively developing new ideas to bring to the market as part of their vision to consistently develop and provide a system of high-quality roofing solutions that they believe are the strongest and most aesthetically pleasing shelters on the market.

New to Business


Turnover increased in Year 2 proving that the Matrix business structure was working. The company are looking at additional products and are starting to offer an innovative alternative to traditional laser light roofing sheets.

“We’re using a polyester blended fabric that offers superior watertight and UV protection. Traditional laser light sheeting requires fixing onto the roof. Our new product requires no screws therefore, not only looks neater but more importantly there are no potential leak points.” This product is something Matrix are offering in partnership with another company and it is this approach that gives them an edge. “We firmly believe that partnering with other professionals will help us grow as we all play to our strengths and draw on our specific areas of expertise. This same partnership philosophy is true of the relationship we share with Ingham Mora and Director Tom Beswick.”

Tom and his team were instrumental in establishing a separate company to purchase Matrix’s unit they were renting, giving them security of location while they focussed on growing the business.
