A fantastic opportunity has arisen within one of our teams for an experienced senior level Accountant to take up the role of Team Leader.

The Role

You will be working with a well-established, progressive Director managing a wide range of clients from a variety of industries where you will be responsible for leading and mentoring a small but expanding accounting team.

Within the team you will not only ensure the preparation of accurate taxation and accounting services, but you will also be encouraged to gain a full understanding of each client’s needs, identify opportunities and support clients in achieving their business goals.

Your skills and attributes
  • A minimum of 7 years experience in a New Zealand or Australian Chartered Accountants office where your knowledge of NZ tax and accounting processes will be current and extensive.
  • Ideally you will be a Chartered Accountant.
  • You have experience managing a team of people
  • You can discriminate between important and unimportant details, recognise inconsistencies between facts, and draw correct inferences from information
  • You’re not afraid to take ownership of all client enquiries and proactively seek advice
  • You can reason objectively and critically with verbal and numerical problems
  • You readily comprehend and process information and are not afraid to make recommendations on actions to be taken
  • You have the ability to articulate and easily communicate on a professional level with a wide range of people while maintaining a professional disposition and a respectful dialogue.
  • You possess strong system skills with a particular interest in Xero. Experience with any Xero add on applications would be a bonus.
  • A willingness and desire to learn new skills is important

A fantastic opportunity has arisen due to significant growth within one of our teams for an intermediate level Accountant in our modern CA Practice, located in central Tauranga.

Our continual growth and success has created an exciting opportunity for a dynamic and motivated accountant to join a young team of professionals, passionate about delivering exceptional business services to a diverse range of clients.

The Role

Your role will be largely focussed on compliance work including preparing accounts, GST’s, regularly monthly reporting and other compliance work.

The role is diverse and bursting with challenges, all you need is the enthusiasm to take them on.

Ideally the role would be 30-32 hours per week, but we’re open to other ideas for the right person.

Your skills and attributes
  • You will have at least 2 years’ experience working in a New Zealand or Australian Chartered Accountants office
  • Experience in completing GST returns, Annual Financial Statements and Tax returns
  • Excellent communication skills including English as a first language or equivalent proficiency
  • Strong computer intelligence with a well-rounded knowledge of Xero, or the enthusiasm to learn what Xero has to offer.
  • Flexibility to work on a variety of tasks geared toward delivering a range of business services to an ever-increasing portfolio.
  • A high standard of personal motivation and a genuine passion about your clients’ business,
  • Ambition to develop your career in a growing, dynamic practice.
  • Formal qualifications are preferred but not considered necessary.
